The Aloaceae family is only found in the Old World. It is an example of convergent evolution.   The Euphorbias are characteristic of the Old World. They have similar structures as the Cactus family, but it has a very different flowering mechanism.   The Crassulaceae family occurs both in the New and Old Worlds.
